RIP Mandiba

  1. He was a great man. Nelson Mandela will be remembered for his legacy of uniting South Africa that was torn apart by war and for all that he stood for.

    May he rest in peace.

  2. Hi Wendy, to answer your question, why doesn't the mamas feed them?
    We have dairy cows and to make sure that the baby calves gets enough colestrum milk to give them a good immune system, we milk the mama and feed the milk to the baby from a bottle with a nipple. It's difficult to tell if they nurse enough from the mama.

    The calves are kept with the mama for a few days and then she goes with the herd and the baby goes in the calf nursery to be taken care of by me.
    Some calves will nurse on the mama for a couple of days and some others won't.
